MATT GORDON, OWNER
Hometown: Sherwood Park
From very early on in life, Matt knew he wanted to own a business. His initial dream was to open an automotive shop, where he could harness his passion for fixing and modifying vehicles. However, while completing a business diploma at NAIT, he ultimately chose a different path. In need of some extra cash to make his car payments, he put an ad on Kijiji, looking for a few driveways to shovel. One thing led to another and he soon found himself servicing a commercial property close to NAIT, as well as a few residential driveways on the southwest side. From there, his first business — Seasonal Solutions Inc. — was founded.
As a small business owner, Matt has many responsibilities. This includes operating heavy equipment during the winter months, working alongside his team during the warmer months, fixing equipment, scheduling and invoicing, and most importantly, customer relations. Since 2012, he has worked hard to grow and maintain a customer base within the Sherwood Park and Edmonton area. He enjoys working with those customers, as well as fellow contractors within the industry, to raise and uphold a quality of service that will be recognizable for years to come.
When time and weather permits, Matt enjoys camping and boating with friends and family. On weekends, you can find him fixing up his car in his garage, relaxing at home or cheering on the Edmonton Oilers!
GRAHAM THOMPSON, General Manager
Hometown: Sherwood Park
Graham started with Seasonal Solutions in May 2015, working part-time while attending the University of Alberta. After graduating with a Bachelor of Education in 2017, he decided to take on a full-time position with the company instead of pursuing a career as a teacher. A few years later, in 2020, his role continued to grow, as he became a part owner and shareholder in Seasonal Solutions.
Graham is our maintenance manager, so his winters are spent in the skid steer plowing parking lots or on the phone managing our sidewalk snow removal crews. His summer days include chatting with clients, working the sun alongside fellow employees, hiring new team members, managing crew/personnel and scheduling daily operations. He loves working outside, meeting new people and he is extremely motivated by the constant growth of small business.
During his free time, Graham can be found coaching local football and basketball teams, hitting the links with friends or hanging out with family and friends.Gen
DEBRA GORDON, EXECUTIVE LEGAL ASSISTANT
Hometown: Sherwood Park
In 1985 Deb became a secretary/assistant where she first worked for high level partners in law firms before shifting her focus to private business owners. Debra grew up in Edmonton and moved to Sherwood Park in 1987 shortly after getting married to Gerry Gordon. They had two sons, Sean and Matthew.
Over the years, she has embraced an entrepreneurial spirit, which has led her to contract her legal services, as well as playing a part in Matt’s business, Seasonal Solutions Inc. Deb has been with Seasonal solutions since the start, in 2012, her current role includes preparing contracts for customers and taking care of accounts receivable and payable, as well as the company’s payroll.
In Debra’s spare time, you will find her traveling out to Vancouver Island, where she owns a cottage on the ocean. She also has a passion for interior decorating and will be graduating as an accredited Interior Designer later this year (2020).
